Facilitator Training
Facilitator Training
Dates: Team Challenge Facilitator Training: Fall 2008--September 26, 2008 from 9-5pm.
The Program
This training will prepare individuals to work collaboratively in groups as well as facilitate group interactions. The program is designed to use games/initiatives as a means of facilitating such concepts as communication (verbal/ nonverbal/ written), leadership development (individual/ shared), trust (self/ others) taking risks (personal/ group), personal growth, interpersonal skills, getting to know each other better and of course, HAVING FUN!
The program is a great opportunity and experience for our student leaders and potential leaders. We have found some of the individuals involved in organizing their group to participate in Team Challenge are enthusiastic and capable of facilitating themselves. We want to open the door for this opportunity!
Experiential Learning (learning by doing with reflection) is a great asset, especially in the educational environment of ASU. It is a great compliment to the cognitive learning theory (e.g., lecture, take notes, study, test). We are promoting a fun way to learn (about self and others) that allows the transferring of skills used in the game to real-life applications.
