Sport Clubs Association
What is the Sport Clubs Association (SCA)?
Beginning in the Fall of 2005, the Arizona State University Sport Clubs Association became the governing body for all sport clubs registered with Campus Recreation. The Sport Clubs Association is a community of students, faculty advisors and coaches that work together to provide outstanding recreational sports experiences for ASU students. Working together, we can accomplish much more than we can individually.
The goals of the Sport Clubs Association are:
1) to increase support for all clubs,
2) to raise awareness of club activities and achievements,
3) to build community among sport clubs.
What does the SCA Executive Board do?
To accomplish these goals, the SCA has created an executive board to work with the Sport Club Staff. The executive board is charged with creating objectives and work plans to achieve SCA Goals. In essence, the Sport Club Executive Board is the administrative and judicial branch of the Sport Club Program.
Responsibilities include:
1) Vote on admitting clubs to the Sport Clubs Association.
2) Develop and oversee the SCA budget.
3) Develop and promote SCA social functions.
4) Develop fundraising opportunities for the SCA.
5) Develop ways to increase participation and communication between all sport clubs.
6) Serve as the Appeals board for sanctions handed down from Sport Club Staff.
7) Advise the Sport Club Staff on policy development and implementation.
