Danae Robinett

Danae's yoga journey began with a Bikram class in 1999 wherein a brief love affair ensued and from there she began to explore the many other forms of yoga. She completed her formal yoga training in magical Sedona , Arizona and finds such pleasure in sharing her knowledge of yoga with others. Danae radiates a strong sense of vitality and a genuine enthusiasm for others as she recognizes the value in what her students can 'teach' her. She encourages her students to find their authentic self in yoga and to lead with the heart in class and beyond!

 

 

 

 

 

Rita Rosenthal

Rita began studying yoga in 1995 as part of an evolving quest to live an active life. Yoga was a natural fit for her interests in exercise and alternative therapies – utilizing practices that are more kind and gentle to the body. After teaching a variety of fitness classes since 1998, she turned her focus to teaching yoga in 2001. In 2004, she obtained her 200-level certification through Yoga Alliance and is now in the final stages of her master level certification through Inner Vision Yoga. Rita utilizes her knowledge, experience, and positive attitude in a fun style with the intent to help participants reach their goals and find empowerment through the beautiful, transforming practice of yoga.

 

 

 

 

Kathy Tousek

Kathy is passionate about Yoga/Pilates and health in general as a student and instructor. Years of chronic back pain due to a broken vertebrae lead Kathy to Yoga and Pilates. In 1997 she left Corporate America and a lucrative sales career of 15 years to stay home and raise her two boy’s while pursuing greater health and wellness in the fitness community. In 2003 she became a Personal Trainer ; in 2004 she received her 200 Hour Teacher Training from Chi Yoga Institute; and in 2005 became certified to teach Nesta Pilates. She loves sharing the benefits of the mind/body connection that both Yoga and Pilates offer. Since 2005, Kathy has trained with Master/Certified Anusara Yoga Instructors and has added two Anusara Immersion trainings and an additional teacher training under her belt. Kathy offers personalized attention while focusing on the 5 Principles of Alignment of Anusara Yoga into her yoga classes. One of her greatest joys is helping people realize more peace, balance, love, and joy in their own lives through the practice of Yoga, Pilates and quiet meditation. Kathy is married to Jim, her soul mate of 20 years, and together they have two sons: Charlie 8th grade and Bradley 5 grade .

Josh Rothman

Josh is a master-level (500 hour) certified yoga instructor. He earnedboth his 200 hour and master-level certifications from Inner Vision Yogaand is registered with the Yoga Alliance. Additionally, he participatesin yoga teacher training programs to train yoga teachers. Sports relatedinjuries from soccer led him to the practice of yoga; he has beenteaching since February 2005. His love of asana is the experience of howhealing it is for mind and body. Josh gears classes towards the healingof past (and prevention of future) injuries, along with an explorationof the connections between the physical, the psychological and thespiritual. Josh has a diverse background in the liberal arts and hascompleted graduate work in justice studies, political philosophy andreligious studies. As a jnana yogi, he is drawn to any intellectualpursuit that sheds light upon the true self.

 

 

 

 

 

Shana Hornstein

Shana Hornstein started practicing yoga in 2001. She has studied in Seattle, WA, London, UK, Nashville, TN, and here in the Phoenix area. She received her 200 hour teacher training at At One Yoga in Scottsdale, AZ in 2006. She teaches vinyasa flow that is influenced by Ashtanga yoga, Anusara yoga, and modern dance. Her newest obsession is Acro Yoga, a combination of acrobatics and yoga.

 

 

 

 

 

Austin Vickers

Austin is a registered yoga teacher and a certified massage therapist . . .He has been a student of yoga for over ten years, and a teacher for the last 5. He has studied with some of the top teachers, including Dharma Mitra, John Friend, Paul Grilley, and Saul David Raye. He blends principles from ashtanga, anusara and hatha yoga with a wide variety of music, including R&B, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Pop and World, to create an invigorating and inspiring class that will stimulate your body and mind.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whitney Zama


Whitney savors each experience in its full-bodied flavor. With openness to possibility, she says YES!!! to opportunities that honor her true nature and others. She is passionate about inspiring her four children and others to experience new things or old things in new ways, and sharing how yoga expands presence and vision.

She is pursuing her Masters of Fine Arts at ASU and Masters 500hr Yoga Teaching Certification.  Having an ongoing love affair with acrobatic partner yoga, she is very active in the Acroyoga community. She has studied massage in Thailand and at the Southwest Institute for Healing Arts, where she received her 200hr yoga teacher training certification. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance.

 

 

 

 

 Desiree Lewis

Desiree has been in the health and wellness field for more than 20 years and holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling and specializes in Wellness and Life Coaching.  In addition to being a certified Pilates and Yoga instructor, she is a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor and has trained everyone from novice to competitive athletes.  She believes that finding balance is the key to health and happiness, and emphasizes this in all of her classes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Maryana Riley

It is said that Belly Dance is the oldest recorded dance in history and recorded in our DNA. It cannot be taught. An instructor has to only create a space for us to remember. Maryana brings to the SDMB team 21 years of experience within and around this sacred dance. she has taken classic belly dancing moves and combined them with influences from around the world to create a work out that will inspire and thrill each participant.
