SRC Policies
SRC ASSUMPTION OF RISK
The use of Student Recreation Complex is completely voluntary and participation is solely determined by choice. ASU is not responsible for injuries incurred during intramural or recreational activities. Participation is voluntary. AS a condition of participating, participants agree to release ASU and assume the risk of any injury that might result. Participants should be in good health and have accident insurance coverage for any injury that might occur.
GENERAL POLICIES
1. A strict ID policy is enforced when entering the SRC. Everyone must show their valid ID (i.e., ASU student or faculty/staff photo ID). If a driver’s license or passport is used, the member must know the membership number. No one will be permitted into an activity area of the SRC without proper ID; this includes students enrolled in academic classes. If a question arises as to the validity of the presented ID, a second form of ID may be required.
2. Tobacco is not permitted in any area of the SRC, including the outdoor fields. Use of alcohol and other drugs is not permitted prior to or while using the facilities.
3. Food and beverages are not permitted in the activity areas of the SRC. Food and beverages are only permitted in the SRC lobby area. The only exception is water in a closed container.
4. Good sportsmanship and proper conduct are expected of all participants.
5. For general safety, shoes must be worn at all times.
6. Shirt and shoes must be worn (unless in the pool area or otherwise posted). Appropriate clothing is required in activity areas.
7. Only clean, non-marking gym shoes are permitted in the activity areas. Users are encouraged to bring a second pair of shoes to use in the facility.
8. Spitting is not allowed in the gymnasium.
9. Scheduled activities in the gymnasium take priority over open recreation. Any modifications of the schedule will be posted.
10. Persons leaving the SRC to exercise outdoors must use the stamp provided at Facility Access for re-entry.
11. No bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, or pets (except guide dogs) are permitted inside the SRC. Bicycle racks outside of the SRC building should be used to secure bicycles.
12. Minors (people under the age of 16) are ONLY permitted in the SRC during authorized Campus Recreation sponsored events (i.e. Family Swim).
13. Conduct in the pool must not jeopardize the safety of self or others
14. Movement of any SRC equipment may only be conducted by Campus Recreation staff members.
15. Modifications of equipment beyond the designed purpose are prohibited.
16. Use of training materials that may be considered a weapon (such as wooden staffs) must be approved by the Campus Recreation Instructional Program Coordinator.
17. Rosin powder, wax, or any other substance which would alter the floor surface is strictly prohibited.
18. Injuries, accidents, or equipment failures are to be reported immediately to the Campus Recreation staff.
19. Patrons in need of using their cell phone are encouraged to move to the SRC Front Lobby or Pool Lobby Area to do so.
20. Requests for approval to post flyers, signs or posters are directed to the Campus Recreation Marketing Department.
21. Anyone requesting to take photographs or video in Campus Recreation facilities must email Laura Parker (laura.parker@asu.edu) for permission. Failure to follow this policy may result in loss of Campus Recreation privileges, and will be referred to the appropriate university department for disciplinary action.
22. The SRC is not responsible for lost or stolen items. The SRC encourages personal belongings to be secured in a locker. Coin operated lockers are available between the Blue and Green Gym.
23. Use of Campus Recreation Facilities is a privilege. Anyone violating rules or posted policies, including verbal, and/or physical abuse of employee(s) or patron(s), criminal activity, disorderly conduct, or inappropriate behavior is subject to: (a) immediate removal from the SRC, (b) fines, (c) suspension of membership, (d) administrative referral to student judicial affairs under the Student Code of Conduct or other applicable policies, and (e) criminal action.
24. Courtesy rules are designed to ensure that all users are given the same opportunity to exercise. Courtesy rules are enforced by the users. Verbal instructions issued by staff must be followed.
25. Any misconduct within the SRC will result in a 2-week suspension and a $20 fine. IDs used to gain illegal entrance into the SRC will be considered patron misconduct and the ID will be confiscated. Suspension will begin the date the fine is paid.
26. Any individual and/or organization not fully complying with the SRC policies and guidelines may be asked to vacate the premises and may have their privileges revoked.
27. Interpretation of any policies will be at the discretion of Campus Recreation staff
We encourage and support individuals with disabilities to bring trained assistants as needed. Any trained assistant supporting a person with disabilities may enter the facility at no charge (must be in compliance with SRC policy by presenting a valid i.d.)
SMALL & LARGE GYMS
1. Only approved activities are permitted in the small gyms.
2. Only soft-soled, non-marking, athletic, and supportive shoes are permitted.
3. Use precaution to avoid any contact with the mirrors.
COMBATIVE ROOM (SMALL GYM A)
1. No shoes, of any kind, are permitted on the mats.
2. No shoes are allowed when kicking bags.
3. No jewelry, including watches, is allowed during participation.
WEIGHT ROOM, CIRCUIT TRAINING ROOM, AND CARDIO AND FITNESS AREAS
1. The Circuit Training Room, Cardio Areas and Upstairs Loft are unsupervised. Participants work out at their own risk.
2. A shirt or tank top is required for participants in the strength and cardio areas. Torso shall be fully covered (exposed chest, midriff, or navel is inappropriate). Shirt arm holes shall be within 1.5 inches of the armpit. No altered shirts shall be worn (i.e. shirts with collar or sleeves cut out). Athletic pants or shorts that are non-revealing and fully cover the buttocks are required. Jeans or bottoms with rivets, zippers, or buttons are not allowed as these items can damage upholstery. Athletic shoes enclosing the entire foot shall be worn at all times.
3. No food or drink may be in the Strength and Cardio areas, with the exception of water in a closed container.
4. Only authorized personnel of Campus Recreation are allowed to provide personal training services at the SR C. Any participant observed or assumed to be personal training with a patron in the facility, who is not employed by Campus Recreation specifically for that purpose, is subject to fines and/or suspension of their Campus Recreation privileges.
5. For your safety, please do not leave personal belongings on Strength & Cardio equipment or floor. Please use lockers or cubbies. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
6. Please wipe down equipment before and after use.
7. The outdoor exercise areas may be closed due to inclement weather.
8. Safe and proper use of equipment is required at all times. If you are unsure how to use a piece of equipment, please ask a Strength and Cardio Supervisor.
9. Please return all plates, dumbbells, and accessories to the proper rack or weight tree after each use.
10. Collars must be used on bars at all times.
11. Please refrain from slamming weight stacks and/or dropping weights on the floor.
12. Participants are encouraged to rotate after one set and allow other participants to work in when using strength equipment.
13. There is a 30-minute time limit on all cardio equipment. Please end your workout after 30 minutes if someone else is waiting.
14. Cell phones are not allowed in Strength and Cardio areas.
RACQUETBALL COURTS
1. Clean athletic shoes must be worn on racquetball courts. Absolutely no black soled shoes that mark the floor are allowed.
2. All metal racquets must have plastic guard attached to racquet heads.
3. Racquetball, squash (court 7), handball, and walleyball are the only activities allowed on racquetball courts unless approved by the Campus Recreation staff in advance.
4. Eye guards are strongly recommended.

COURT RESERVATIONS
1. “Court 7” is reserved for squash only.
2. “Courts 1-6” may be reserved for racquetball.
3. Courts are on a first come/first serve basis unless otherwise reserved.
4. Patrons may reserve a court up to 48 hours, but no less than 2 hours, in advance of desired playing time.
5. Courts are reserved in hour increments.
6. Patrons may reserve a court by phone at (480-965-8922) or in person at the equipment room located on the first floor of the SRC.
7. Each individual patron may reserve one court, for one hour, per visit.
SWIMMING POOL
1. Swimming is prohibited unless the pool is open and university approved lifeguards are on duty.
2. No glass containers, lotions, oils, tobacco products, food, drink or chewing gums are allowed at the pool.
3. Running, horseplay, diving, and swimming under the bulkheads is prohibited.
4. Profanity, improper behavior, intoxication or vulgar language will not be tolerated.
5. Proper swim wear must be worn at all times.
6. Take a soap shower before entering the pool.
7. Do not enter the pool with a cold, skin/or body infection, open wound, diarrhea, or any other contagious condition.
8. If incontinent, wear tight fitting rubber or plastic pants or a swim diaper.
9. Observe all safety regulations.
SRC POOL ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
The SRC has a “dry ramp” that allows for lateral transfers in and out of the SRC pool. The dry ramp is located on the southeast side of the pool with wheelchair ramps on the northwest and northeast sides of the pool. The full and part-time staff are not trained to assist in the lateral transfers for reasons of safety and/or physical abilities.

LOCKER ROOM
1. Absolutely NO CELL PHONES or photographic equipment use allowed in the locker rooms. Please see the complete rule under General Policies.
2. Please report suspicious activity to the Campus Recreation staff.
3. Please dry in the drying area.
4. WARNING—Locker room floors may be slippery. Please use caution.
5. Use of Suitmate B is intended for swimsuits ONLY. Please do not use for any other item.
6. For general safety, glass containers are not permitted in the locker rooms.
LOCKER RENTAL PROCEDURES
1. Students, faculty/staff, and annual alumni members may rent lockers by the semester. Locker rentals are available on the first day of class, of each semester. Locker sales begin at 8:00 a.m., at Administrative Services, located in the front lobby of the SRC.
2. Locker rentals expire on the day of commencement of each fall and spring semester. Summer locker rentals are available for each/or both summer sessions; summer session rentals expire on the last day of class.
3. All lockers must be removed or vacated by the expiration date. The renewal period for locker members begins 3 weeks prior to the commencement day and end on commencement day. Non-renewed lockers will be stripped at this time. Possessions removed in a stripped locker may be retrieved by providing the necessary information, picture identification and a $10.00 stripping fee at the Equipment Room. At the end of each semester, all contents not retrieved will be donated.
DAILY LOCKERS
1. Patrons may use designated lockers with stickers on a daily basis.
2. Daily lockers may not be used to store items over night. Locks left on daily lockers will be removed nightly.
3. Items stripped from daily lockers may be retrieved by providing the necessary information, picture identification, and a $10.00 stripping fee at the Equipment Room.
LOST AND FOUND
1. All lost and found items are kept at Administrative Services, located in the SRC front lobby.
2. Unclaimed items are delivered to the Memorial Union twice a week.
3. All found IDs are taken to the Memorial Union Information Desk (located on the main level) at the start of each business day.
RENTAL
General equipment is available with an ASU ID and a $1.00 per item fee. Only SRC members may rent items, which include:

Footballs
Kickballs

Soccer Balls
Squash Racquets
Table Tennis Paddles
Tennis Racquets
Volleyballs
The following items are FREE with an ASU ID:
Magazine Rack
Medicine Ball

All outdoor recreation backpacks are rented for $10 for up 7 days.
RENTAL POLICIES
1. All equipment checked out or rented on a daily basis must be returned to the Equipment Room 30 minutes before closing time.
2. All late, lost, or damaged equipment is subject to a fine.
TOWEL SERVICE
A towel service may be purchased for $10 at Administrative Services. Dirty towels may be traded for clean ones at the Equipment Room as many times as needed.
Towels are available to patrons without a towel service for $2 per visit.
PRO SHOP
Supplemental equipment may be purchased from the Pro Shop, located in the Equipment Room. The Pro Shop includes such items as:

SRC FIELD POLICIES
1. Information regarding SRC field operation hours, scheduled field reservation, and/or how to reserve field space is available at: http://src.asu.edu/Facility/Rentals
2. All field space is intended for use by SRC members only. The Campus Recreation staff reserves the right to request appropriate identification at any time.
3. During approved Campus Recreation activities, the fields will not be available for drop-in play.
4. The SRC fields are available on a first-come first serve basis.
5. Fields will be closed in inclement weather.
6. Trash must be placed in appropriate containers.
7. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs may be consumed prior to or while using SRC fields. Glass containers are prohibited at all times.
8. Unauthorized motorized vehicles, bicycles and skateboards are not allowed on the SRC fields.
9. The Campus Recreation department is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
10. All pets must be on a leash and the owner is responsible for proper clean up and disposal of all excrement.
11. Use of metal cleats is prohibited.
