INTRODUCTION TO PERSONAL TRAINING - no pre-requisites

When: The next section of this course will be offered Summer 2010

Description: Introduction to Personal Training consists of extensive practical and theoretical training, including anatomy and kinesiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise psychology, training techniques, safety and injury prevention, and liability information. Practical information includes spotting, intake, program design for apparently healthy populations, major basic exercises and form.  It is designed for participants who  have not taken formal kinesiology/anatomy courses or needs a refresher.  This class is 75% lecture and 25% practical (hands on) format.

This course is limited to 20 students to allow ample personal instruction.
Upon completion of the course, ASU students are eligible to interview for a supervisor/fitness specialist position at the SRC.
