Shorin Ryu Karate
Description: Traditional Okinawan Karate and Kobudo. Participants will learn the secrets of Okinawan karate – a martial art that is nearly 1000 years old. Beginners and Advanced martial artists alike will learn effective blocks and strikes along with very pragmatic self-defense techniques and kata (forms). Kobudo, the ancient art of Okinawan weapons is part of karate and the students will have opportunity to learn the use of a bo (6-foot staff) as a part of the training.

Instructor: 14-time Hall of Fame inductee, W. Dan Hausel. Grandmaster Hausel is one of the most successful instructors in the U.S. and has taught people all over the world in self-defense and karate. He is the 2004 Instructor of the Year and 2001 International Instructor of the Year.
Class materials: Participants are required to purchase a Bo (6-foot staff) and a Gi (uniform) is recommended (but not required) to participate in the class – these will not be required for the first couple of weeks. Instructor will have information on purchasing and cost-saving ideas.
