Date - April 25th-27th, 2008
MASD sponsors the Desert Challenge Games annually during the month of April. The Desert Challenge Games are Olympic style competition specifically for athletes with physical disabilities.
The Desert Challenge Games are sanctioned by Wheelchair Sports, USA, National Disabled Sports Alliance, United States Association of Blind Athletes and Disabled Sports, USA. Events include Track & Field, Swimming, Table Tennis, Archery, Cycling, Weightlifting, Bocce Ball and Wheelchair Basketball.
2008 U.S. Paralympic Team Trials – Track and Field
Dates: Thursday, June 12 – Sunday, June 15, 2008
Purpose: The sole U.S. qualifying opportunity for track and field for the 2008 Paralympic Games
Events: Track and Field events being contested at the 2008 Paralympic Games
Hosts: Arizona Disabled Sports and City of Mesa Parks, Recreation & Commercial Facilities
Locations: Arizona State University and University Sun Angel Stadium/Joe Selleh Track
Eligibility: Based on International Paralympic Committee’s Athletics Classification System and event qualification standards issued by U.S. Paralympics. U.S. and international athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments who meet the event qualification standards will be eligible to enter.
Registration: Registration posted and opens May 1, 2008

Fee: $25 / registrant received on or before May 27, 2008 to MASD.
$50 / registrant if received May 27 – June 9. Registration closed June 10.
Includes: Competition, shuttle transportation to/from host hotel & venue, Sunday evening banquet
Sanctioning: International Paralympic Committee Athletics. IPC Athletics and IAAF rules will govern the competition.
