Academic Support

ASU Campus Recreation is committed to the academic success and support of all ASU students. We actively try to enhance academic support though our programs and services in a variety of ways including, but not limited to:
1. supporting academic research in the SRC
2. promoting internships and job fairs to student employees
3. providing academic messaging to students in the SRC and via SRC website
4. partnering with academic units to promote research and participation in Campus Recreation programs*
5. GPA guidelines for all Sport Club participants

*Physical activity is an excellent way to relieve stress deter the effects of spending hours on end studying. Many studies indicate that physical activity and academic performance are linked. Additionally, studies have show than participation in Campus Recreation programs can lead to greater reported satisfaction with the college experience, higher GPAs and increased graduation rates.

Campus Recreation Scholarships

The Endowed Keith Jacobson Scholarship

This scholarship is named after our past associate director. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide assistance to current SRC student employees that have demonstrated a positive contribution and commitment to the SRC and to assist them with their academic pursuits. This scholarship has been completely endowed as of Februray 2005. Through continued support of SRC patrons, parents and ASU Alumni, the scholarship will contine to grow and support more stuents who work in campus recreation.

The Ed Trexler Scholarship

This scholarship provides support for students seeking professional development in intramural and extramural programming and sports officiating. The scholarship also provides an award and recognition annual for an outstanding intramural/extramural official.

AZ Cactus Scholarsihp

This scholarship has been funding students to attend regional and national conferences.
